Glyphs, Vol.1 is a series of improvised pieces for viola and modular synth. The pieces are centered around an “alphabet” of improvised viola gestures. The letters or “glyphs” are then used to spell out phrases. The titles of the core three pieces are phrases randomly sourced from a translation of Clarice Lispector's The Passion According to G.H. Each piece is performed using only the letters from these phrases as the basic building blocks where the viola “glyphs” are played back, shuffled, processed, and deconstructed within the modular system.

All proceeds will be donated to NAFCON's Bayanihan Relief and Rehabilitation Program to provide immediate support for communities affected by the recent disasters in the Philippines. Visit tinyurl.com/2021typhoons
